Web Processing Equipment

Formed in 1956, Faustel is a design and engineering service firm who manufactures web processing equipment for the paper, film and foil converting industry. Faustel's innovations give them the drive to go in into areas of developing coating and laminating equipment for flexible products used in the aerospace, medical, automotive, electronics, and textile industries. Their products include complete lines, control systems, web coating and laminating equipment, drying equipment, and winding web handling equipment.

A changing market forced Faustel to make new equipment and process modifications. This new infrastructure opened opportunities for more demanding items that could not be made successfully on older machinery designed to run lacquer coatings, casein, and adhesives. Faustel uses SolidWorks 3D CAD to continually offer their customers web processing equipment for the paper, film and foil converting industry.

Faustel found that by trasferring their data from their previous AutoCAD 2D system to SolidWorks Professional they were able to reduce design errors and decrease communication delays. Now, Faustel's overseas customers can view the 3D drawing in the same afternoon it was designed. By implementing the SolidWorks CAD Software, Faustel is employing 3D design data at additional points in the development process and this in turn has improved quality across the board.
