Balaji Chandrasekaran is the Territory Technical Manager,
Analysis Products, Midwest for Solidworks, the leading worldwide
supplier of 3D CAD technology and analysis tools.
In that role,
Balaji is responsible for supporting SolidWorks Value-Added
Resellers and their customers as they adopt “leading
edge” tools to enhance their
productivity and become optimally efficient through effective
design analysis, and validation.
Balaji brings over 6 years
of design analysis experience to his role at SolidWorks.
Balaji
first joined the corporation in 2001 as a Technical Support
Engineer, assisting a wide range of customers, who worked
with COSMOS Analysis Products. From there, he was promoted
into the SolidWorks Quality Assurance and Research & Development
organization in California, where he focused on developing “real
world” test scenarios and executing
them, to vigorously eliminate potential quality
issues in the COSMOS analysis software modules. After
four years in that role, he was promoted to his current
position in the Midwest.
Balaji has a Bachelors degree,
and a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and
CAD/CAM/FEA, both earned with honors. While completing his
Masters at the University of Missouri, he also worked as a
teaching assistant for the Pro-E and Catia courses there. Additionally,
Balaji is the published author
of “An Inductive Approach to Product Design Based
on Modular Product Architecture and a connected paper:
(Chandarsekaran, B., Stone, R. and McAdams, D., 2004,) “Developing
Design Templates for Product Platform Focused Design,” Journal
of Engineering Design, 15(2):1-19.
Based in Ann Arbor,
Michigan, Balaji supports all Midwestern clients
and VARS. He is a regular speaker and presenter at SolidWorks
World events and many COSMOS User Group and prospect
events.
Chris Schaefer

Chris Schaefer earned a Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering
from Michigan Technological University with an emphasis in
designing
with CAE software. His work experience includes product design
and development for such industries as consumer products, medical,
and automotive. He has been using SolidWorks
since release 2000 and began working as an Applications Engineer
for Graphics Systems for over two years.
Chris is a leading COSMOS Certified Engineer earning all possible
certifications offered by SolidWorks including: Core, Advanced,
and Instructor Certifications.
